This lecture discusses the anesthetic management of small animal patients undergoing diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT, and fluoroscopy. In these cases, the anesthetist is routinely prevented from providing hands-on anesthetic care, resulting in 'remote anesthesia.' An understanding of equipment safety, monitoring techniques, and patient positioning is imperative to optimize anesthetic management. Additionally, common pathologies seen in these patients will be reviewed to ensure safe anesthetic care during imaging procedures.
