This hybrid laboratory provides 8 hours of virtual didactic instruction (asynchronous), followed by a full day of in-person, hands-on laboratory training (Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 8 am-5 pm) in advanced small animal laparoscopic and thoracoscopic techniques. Material covered includes a brief introduction to equipment and anesthetic techniques, discussion of indications and contraindications for minimally invasive surgery, and specific instruction regarding abdominal procedures (ovariectomy, gastropexy, cholecystectomy, adrenalectomy, nephrectomy) and thoracic procedures (pericardiectomy, thoracic duct ligation, lung lobectomy).
This laboratory includes the use of cadavers.
This laboratory takes place at an off-site laboratory facility. Additional details will be provided to participants.
