A focused laboratory on small animal pelvic limb diagnostic needle arthroscopy and hip, stifle, and hock arthroscopic-assisted debridement and joint restoration. A combination of short, cutting-edge lectures and two wet lab sessions will be employed. Lectures will cover needle arthroscopy instrumentation, technique, and pathology identification and documentation. Arthroscopic manipulation, debridement, and repair of pelvic limb joint pathology will be addressed. Assisted hip stabilization, meniscal tear resection and suture repair, arthroscopic medial patella femoral band release with concurrent distal femoral osteotomy (DFO), and tarsal OCD debridement with distal tibial osteotomy (DTO) will be presented. Participants will have pelvic limb cadaver saddles to perform the described techniques and will be instructed and guided through the techniques by experienced and proficient arthroscopic and joint repair surgeons. Participation will be limited to current ACVS, ECVS and ANZCVS residents, residency-trained non-Boarded/Fellowed and Diplomats/Fellows.
This laboratory takes place at an off-site laboratory facility. Additional details will be provided to participants.
