Dr. Desrochers graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1986. He completed and internship in farm animal medicine and surgery at the same university. After five years in a dairy practice in the province of Quebec, he completed a residency and a master’s in Large Animal Surgery at Kansas State University from 1992–1995. He then moved back to the Université de Montréal where he is currently Professor of Farm Animal Surgery and Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeon and the European College of Bovine Health Management. His clinical and research interests are in general surgery and lameness in cattle.
