Teresa Graham Brett, JD leads efforts to fully integrate inclusion within the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine (UACVM). As founding Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, she works with the DEI team in developing programs and services for community engagement, pathways to veterinary medicine, and current students, faculty, and staff. As a faculty member, she serves as course co-director with Ryane Englar, DVM, DABVP (Canine and Feline Practice) of the 6-semester longitudinal Professional Skills course sequence at the UACVM. She and Dr. Englar have developed a fully integrated DEI curriculum into the program.
Prior to being at the UACVM, she served in various leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Arizona, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of Students at the University of Texans at Austin, and Associate Dean and Co-Director, Program on Intergroup Relations at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Brett provides training across the US in the areas of integration of inclusive learning processes and content into the curriculum, strategies for developing inclusive programs and environments, and facilitating inter-group dialogue processes.
