Dr. Ishigaki graduated from Nihon University in 2004 followed by enrolled in an internship at Animal Medical Center (ANMEC) of Nihon University. After that, Dr. Ishigaki has consistently researched veterinary minimally invasive surgery (MIS) including endoscopic surgery, interventional radiology, and photodynamic therapy, so acquired a PhD in 2023. At present, Dr. Ishigaki is a senior fellow in Dr. Asano's lab for researching veterinary MIS, and also working for the surgical service in the ANMEC. Dr. Ishigaki is mainly interested in MIS for congenital diseases in dogs and cats, as well as for oncologic diseases. Now, Dr. Ishigaki is a vice president of the Japan Society for Veterinary Endoscopic Surgery (JSVES) and an executive board member of the Japanese Society of Veterinary Interventional Radiology (JSVIR).
