Dr. Carlson graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. After completing two equine internships she pursued a PhD in comparative and experimental medicine at the University of Tennessee where she focused on subchondral bone disease and osteoarthritis in large animals. Chief among her research interests are soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitors, which she began studying as a veterinary student, in addition to the use of novel therapies or procedures for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Carlson earned her PhD this past summer and is currently an equine intern at the University of Illinois working towards a career in large animal surgery.
