Dr. Elaine Holmes, a Michigan native, earned her degree from MSU CVM in 2007. Following her graduation, she completed an internship at Texas A&M and a surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, achieving board certification as a surgeon in 2012.
Dr. Holmes has spent her career in private practive honing her surgical skills with a focus in minially invasive surgery including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, and flouroscopic assisted orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Her commitment extends beyond surgical expertise to fostering effective teams and providing mentorship, facilitating fulfillment and growth within her team. She has held roles including Department Head, Co-Internship Director, Medical Director, and currently CMO of Scout Veterinary Urgent Care.
Actively engaged in the veterinary community, Dr. Holmes participates in the AVMA wellbeing education program. She shares her expertise as an invited speaker at local, national, and international events. Embracing her love for teaching, she instructs DVM and technician courses in and effort to enrich the field with her knowledge and experience.
