Dr. Davidson is a board-certified small animal surgeon. She grew up in California and earned her veterinary degree from the University of California at Davis in 1996 and a master’s degree in 1998. She worked in San Diego as a general practitioner in a mixed small animal and exotic practice for four years before pursuing specialty certification in small animal surgery. In 2001, Dr. Davidson completed a surgical internship at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles and thereafter her residency program at VetSurg, Inc. in 2004. During her residency, Dr. Davidson had the opportunity to work under some of the most accomplished surgeons in the United States in the fields of orthopedics, surgical oncology and surgical neurology. While living in California, Dr. Davidson founded two specialty clinics in the Los Angeles area: CM Surgical Group, a boutique small animal surgical specialty hospital and Veterinary Specialists of the Valley, a state-of-the-art multiple specialty hospital with CT and MRI on site. Dr. Davidson sold her interest in both hospitals to move to a smaller town in Texas with her family as she and her husband wanted to raise their children in a more family-oriented community. Dr. Davidson's professional interests include orthopedics and fracture repair, surgical oncology, neurosurgery and pain management. She has been TPLO certified since 2000 and is also certified in Penn HIP evaluation. She has authored publications in both orthopedics and pain management as well as authored textbook chapters in small animal orthopedics and avian medicine. When not working, Dr. Davidson spends her time with her husband, four children, and their chocolate lab, Liberty. They enjoy camping, hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and spending time outdoors.
