Dr. Ranganathan earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSC & AH) from Pondicherry University, India, in 2012. Upon graduation, he worked as an assistant veterinarian in private practice for four years in India. He completed a small animal rotating internship and a small animal surgery specialty internship at Oregon State University (2016–2018). He also completed his small animal surgery residency at Oregon State University (2021). He has been a board-certified surgeon (small animal) since 2022. His research interests include surgical oncology and cardiothoracic surgery. He is currently an assistant professor in small animal soft tissue surgery at Michigan State University since 2021.
