Dr. Cheramie received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University. He practiced in central Kentucky for a year then completed a large animal internship at the University of Tennessee and a combined Large Animal Surgery Residency and Master’s program at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cheramie is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He practiced performance horse medicine and surgery until he joined Merial in providing technical and professional support to the US Equine Business and Global Equine Commercial Development Units. He currently serves as a Senior Equine Professional Service Veterinarian for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. He has special interest in equine poor performance, surgical and medical colic management, equine gastric ulcer syndrome, guttural pouch disease, sustainable parasite control, and podiatry.
