Gillian Davies, originally from Calgary AB, decided to change her career focus from analytical chemistry to veterinary medicine after working with a variety of research animal groups at Dalhousie University. Dr. Davies then attended Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK and developed a keen interest in surgery and critical care medicine during her internship at Texas A&M. She is ecstatic to continue to hone her skills through her Small Animal Surgery residency at UW Madison, where she is now in her fourth and final year. She particularly enjoys minimally invasive surgical options, trauma surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. In her free time, she likes to sing, play violin, and explore the great outdoors with her tripod kitty Daniel.
