Dr. Garcia-Collao was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. She completed an imaging for diagnosis and nuclear medicine degree from European University of Madrid, and a Veterinary Medicine Degree from Extremadura University (Spain).
After graduating, she completed a rotatory internship at the Veterinary Clinic of Grosbois in France. She gained broad clinical experience from this internship and developed a solid interest in orthopedics and upper respiratory airway surgeries. Following this, she completed a specialized surgical internship at Hogan Equine in New Jersey, where she had the opportunity to focus on racehorses’ surgical procedures. Currently, she is engaged in an academic equine internship and graduate program at Washington State University, further enhancing her expertise in equine medicine and surgery.
Dr. Garcia-Collao is particularly interested in pursuing an Equine Surgery Residency next.
