Maureen Spinner, DVM, DACVS-SA joined MIchigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine as an assistant professor (HP) of Soft Tissue Surgery with the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences on October 19, 2020. Dr. Spinner earned her Bachelor of Science at Washington State University where she majored in zoology. She then went on to earn her DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spinner completed two internships—the first in small animal medicine and surgery from Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA, and the second in small animal surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego in San Diego, CA. She then completed a small animal surgical residency at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island, West Islip, NY. Dr. Spinner's scholarly interests include wound management, feline/canine cancer, reconstructive surgery, and advanced thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. She has a strong passion for teaching and mentoring veterinary students and residents.
