This seminar lecture series discusses:
-Anthropogenic climate change and the environmental impacts of practicing veterinary medicine on animal, human and planetary health.
-How to account for the problem with carbon literacy and build solutions-based action plans to practice veterinary medicine more sustainably with emphasis on practical specific impactful actions that can be implemented within the hospital, particularly for surgery and anesthesia.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the concepts of anthropogenic climate change, carbon literacy, and the environmental impact of providing veterinary care
Learn how to account for the problem utilizing greenhouse gas inventory tools and then prioritize mitigation measures
Learn how to identify and implement practical actions to reduce the impact of veterinary care
