This seminar focuses on taking an in-depth look at a surgical area from the perspective of large animal, small animal, and human surgical practice. The lectures focus on the mechanics and physiology of the stifle/knee highlighting unique and comparative aspects, and the clinical problems and surgical approaches in each species. A panel discussion follows the series of lectures.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the comparative functional and physiological aspects of the stifle/knee
Appreciate the unique and common clinical problems faced in small animal, large animal, and human stifle/knee surgery
Appreciate and discuss how the comparative functional, physiologic, and clinical issues in each species influence care and what common themes can be identified.
