The Ethos Precision Medicine Umbrella Study for Hemangiosarcoma (PUSH) is a five-year, 400-dog nationwide, prospective, randomized study of canine spontaneous hemoperitoneum and hemangiosarcoma that links patient-forward clinical research and laboratory efforts focused on tumor biology, genomics, and epigenomics. This seminar shares our progress and review preliminary findings from high-level evidence on perioperative management of spontaneous hemoperitoneum, pre-surgical diagnostics, surgical outcomes (including time to surgery, enhanced recovery opportunities), secondary hemoabdomens, blood-based tests (liquid biopsy) to assess burden of disease, and accelerating drug development in the context of rigorous prospective clinical trials.
