In this scenario-based and interactive session, primary care veterinarians (PCVs) and ACVS Diplomates (Diplomates) examine and discuss the challenges that patient scenarios can present to collaborative relationships. This session is ideal for PCVs, Diplomates, technicians, practice managers, and others interested in enhancing the PCV-Diplomate connection.
The importance of communication, empathy, and respect among the PCVs, animal owners, and Diplomates is highlighted. The characteristics and benefits of a productive relationship—as well as the pitfalls that can occur—are considered. The ACVS Collaborative Relationship Communication Tool, a starting point for enhancing the PCV-Diplomate workspace, is shared and referenced. Attendees have an opportunity to
