Dr. Milovancev earned his DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2003 and began working towards becoming a board-certified surgeon by completing both a rotating and a surgical internship at the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT from 2003–2005. He then matched to a surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison from 2005–2008 and became a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009. He worked in private referral practice for two years, followed by a clinical instructorship in soft tissue and surgical oncology at North Carolina State University. He then accepted a tenure-track faculty position at Oregon State University from 2011–2021, during which time he earned tenure, served as Section Head of Small Animal Surgery, and focused his clinical and research efforts in the areas of surgical oncology and minimally invasive surgery. He currently continues his dedication to contributing and advancing the profession through his work in private referral practice at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Bellingham, WA.
