Dr. Ingrid Balsa received her BS and MEd from the University of Arizona. She was a public school teacher for several years prior to becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and after obtaining her DVM she completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at North Carolina State University and her residency in Small Animal Surgery at the University of California-Davis. Since obtaining diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 2017, she worked as a clinical faculty member at the University of California, Davis also completing the ACVS MIS fellowship (small animal-soft tissue). She is currently an associate professor of soft tissue surgery at Oregon State University. Her research interests include minimally invasive surgery and surgical education.
