Large Animal Surgery Resident

Dr. Veerasammy is currently a large animal surgery resident at the University of Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 with a veterinary degree. Upon completion, she accepted a rotating large animal internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Guelph. She then undertook a second equine internship at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital in Congupna, Australia. Under the direction of Dr. Liara Gonzalez, she completed a master's degree in Comparative Biomedical Science in 2021. Her research interests include regenerative therapies of the intestinal epithelium and equine intestinal stem cell renewal.
