After graduating from Brown University in 1986, Dr. Ross Lirtzman received his veterinary degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. He completed a one year rotating internship at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Teaching Hospital (1990-1991) and between 1991 and 1995, he was a resident and chief resident in Small Animal Surgery at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Lirtzman is the founder and principal partner of Arizona Canine Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and brings more than 32 years of CFX cemented and 18 years BFX cementless total hip experience to practice.
Lirtzman is the innovator of the Cup Position Assessment Device (CPAD) for intra-operative radiographic evaluation of acetabular cup angle of lateral opening and retroversion and is a leader in the area of intra-operative imaging of canine total hip replacement.
Dr. Lirtzman serves as a clinical consultant and educator for major industry partners DePuy Synthes Vet/Johnson & Johnson Medtech Animal Health and BioMedtrix/Movora Universal and Micro/Nano total hip replacement.
