Tom earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery degree from the University of Edinburgh Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies in the UK in 2020. He subsequently completed a 1 year rotating internship at Hambleton Equine Clinic in the UK followed by an 18 month specialty internship at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hong Kong, where he continued to develop his interest for preventative orthopaedics in Thoroughbred racehorses. During his time in Hong Kong he embarked on a retrospective study investigating the prognosis for return to athletic function for Thoroughbred racehorses with injuries to the palmaroproximal aspect of the metacarpus. Tom joined Cornell University to embark on his Large Animal Surgical Residency in July 2023.
