Dr. Scharf is an Associate Professor of Small Animal Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems from Stanford University and a DVM from Texas A&M University prior to completing a rotating internship at The Ohio State University and a surgery residency and Master of Science at the University of Florida. Her research interests include minimally invasive surgery, the development of novel thoracoscopic procedures, spontaneous pneumothorax, and the role of sleep in surgeon health and performance.
